Review and Publication Process

Publishing can be a daunting task for both the novice researcher and the seasoned academics as well. Here are some general guidelines for aspiring authors, as well as a brief overview of the publication process from submission through acceptance and on to publication.

A full double-blind refereeing process is used that comprises of the following steps :

  • Please check the author and submission guidelines for journals.
  • Journals differ significantly in their requirements for submission length, formatting, and reference style.
  • Papers accepted for publication typically go through at least two rounds of review. Publishing a good research paper takes time, patience, effort, and collaboration.
  • The reviewers' recommendations determine whether a paper will be accepted / accepted subject to change / subject to revise and resubmission with significant changes / rejected.
  • If your manuscript is sent back through the review process and is REJECTED, it is in your best interest to take these reviews to heart and do your best to address the reviewers’ points.
  • If you are invited to RESUBMIT your manuscript, be diligent in your responses to reviewers’ comments. Consider their feedback carefully, and be sure that your reviewer response document addresses each reviewer’s set of critiques in a point-by-point manner. This often-tedious task is crucial to the review process and helps the review team assess your commitment to the quality and improvement of your paper.
